  The workflowProvider Element
Prev Next

If a database supports workflows, a 'workflow provider' must be configured. A workflow provider is responsible for matching workflows to items. It is configured using the <workflowProvider> element:

<database id="myDB" singleInstance="true" type="Sitecore.Data.Database, Sitecore.Kernel">
  <param desc="name">$(id)</param>
  ...
  <workflowProvider hint="defer" type="Sitecore.Workflows.Simple.WorkflowProvider, Sitecore.Kernel">
    <param desc="database">$(id)</param>
    <param desc="history store" ref="workflowHistoryStores/sqlServer" param1="$(id)" />
  </workflowProvider>
</database>

A specific workflow provider implementation must currently implement the IWorkflowProvider interface. The properties you can set on the workflow provider depend on the specific implementation.
